The locations of the serial were mostly shot in the hill stations which made the serial a treat to watch. Ganga Yamuna Saraswathi was really appreciated for showing the world about female infanticide. They both made a goodcouple together intheserial. The Actress Sukumari had also done justice to her role. M.S.Viswanathan played the role of the grandfather with ease and in a comical way. The role of hospital dean, played by Krishnamac hary was applaudable. The story line was so strong and was woven in such an intelligent manner, which made the viewers also think intelligently. But her new daughter-in-law was an educated girl and she stood against female infanticide. They didn’t leave even a single girl child alive in the village. It was shown that a village was ruled by a tyrannical woman along with her sons. Renuka, as always was sought after the character in this serial too. Direction of the serial was done by Robert and Ramesh. The title Song of Ganga Yamuna Saraswathi was composed by M.S.Viswanathan and was sung beautifully by Hariharan.
